Drafting of patent and utility model applications, in particular in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry.
Christof Gessner studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart with a focus on polymer chemistry. He completed his diploma thesis in 2009 at the Institute of Technical Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart in the field of organometallic frameworks.
Afterwards he intensified this research and examined the catalytic oxidation of hydrocarbon compounds with molecular oxygen as an oxidant and copper-containing organometallic frameworks as a catalyst. He finalized his doctorate in this topic at the University of Stuttgart in 2014.
In the years 2014 to 2017 he successfully completed his training in the field of intellectual property law in the law firm “Patentanwälte Ruff, Wilhelm, Beier, Dauster & Partner”. He also completed his “Amtsjahr” at the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court and the Mannheim District Court as well as an extra-occupational law studies.
Since 2014, Christof Gessner has been entrusted with the drafting of patent applications, with patent granting and opposition proceedings.
Christof Gessner was admitted in 2017 as a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt). He is entitled to represent before the Federal German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court (BPatG) and in invalidity proceedings, in proceedings for granting or withdrawing a supplementary protection certificate and in proceedings for a compulsory license before the Federal Supreme Court (BGH). In addition, he is entitled to represent in matters of plant variety protection before the Federal Plant Varieties Office (Bundessortenamt).
