Peter Trodler joined our firm in 2014 and is responsible for drafting patent applications, assistance in patent prosecution and opposition proceedings, expert opinions, infringement analyses, FTO-analyses, validity analyses, due-diligence proceedings, as well as performing searches of prior art.
His technical expertise focuses on biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, nutritional science, food technology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, molecular diagnostics, as well as battery technology.
Peter Trodler is taking care of cases for German and international, large and medium-sized clients as well as for academic and commercial research institutions and start-up companies.
Peter Trodler studied Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and graduated in 2003 with a Diploma in Chemistry focused on physical chemistry and biotechnology. Subsequently, he worked at the Institute of Technical Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart and finalized his PhD thesis in the field of biocatalysis in 2008.
Peter Trodler received a research scholarship for a stay at the Institute of Biotechnology of the University of Milano-Bicocca and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology of the Academy of Sciences Shanghai/China.
From 2008 to 2014 Peter Trodler was working in the pharmaceutical industry at Midas Pharma where he was responsible for generic pharmaceutical compounds and formulations. In parallel, he studied „Industrial Property“ at the FernUniversität Hagen and graduated in 2012 as Patent Counsel. From 2014 to 2016 he was trained in the field of Intellectual Property Law at Gleiss, Große, Schrell und Partner.
Peter Trodler is fluent in German and English.
